Himself had his usual melt down several times yesterday--poor guy--I know he doesn't remember them---It is always directed at me---and I am trying to just let it run off of me---try not to talk back-- I have figured out however what might help the both of us-- There is a "Day Program" , at one of the Senior's Homes-- I used to volunteer there-- and--Himself used to be the Doctor at that place -So I called the person in charge there, and he agreed that it would benefit both Himself--and "ME"---something different for Himself, and maybe I could do a few errands while he was there--even for the morning, once a week--He is going to get a referral--and get back to me---
Yesterday, for exercise, I cut the front lawn-- patched the little round circles left from big Beau peeing on it--top soil--then grass seed , with lotza water--and a prayer that the seed fill in the patch--
While I was out there, a huge toad hopped of of his hole---(scarred the liver out of )-----Big Beau decided to bite the toad--and the toad spit at Beau--He dropped the toad so fast!-- I had to put the hose in Beau's mouth to rinse it out--I suspect there was some sort of poison in what the toad emitted----
What would my life ever be like if I did not read?---The above picture resembles the books I read - I have a kindle, so I order that amount of reading material weekly--Living in the bush, my Kindle keeps me alive and happy!Yes, I really really want to look like the above slim Lady-- a long grey pony tail --would be nice-- no more colour if I'm aiming to resemble her--and a great way to save time and money--I suppose when my eye sight fades, I can "think" I resemble that Lady, even if I do not--I very well might look like the Lady below--SEE YOU TO_MORROW!
Good morning, Lynda. I hope it works out for himself to go to the day program. I hope he would agree to go. My yorkies are pad trained. It is good and bad. My little one has a typical puppy parasite and on several meds right now. A lot involved to get him better. He is sleeping through the night. Amazing! Oh goodness! A toad! Toads, frogs are my irrational fear! Lol Cannot stand them! I have my husband put them in our storm drain down the street. Yuck! I have a long, brown pony tail. I need it gone! Nice to put it up but a pain to wash and dry. Funny thing is, my 15 year old nephew, that spends the summer, tells me he likes it and not to cut it! Lol Enjoy your day! So hot in Ohio this week but I am stuck in with the dogs right now so it is ok. Take care!
ReplyDeleteYour puppy sounds cute-- No --Don't cut your hair--LOL -Yu could look like that beautiful lady with the long white pony tail----LOL--- Lynda
DeleteLOL! You inspire me every day!
DeleteToads can be toxic! Good for you for helping Beau rinse out.
ReplyDeleteOne more day, eh? I do hope the day program works out for you and Himself. Could be a godsend!
I thought toads could be toxic and I saw a stream of white liquid aimed at Beau's face---Good thing I was close by with the hose--Lynda
Deleteone more thing--- Himself will probably not agree to go--but the man running the place said he could talk him into it--WE shall see --LOL--Lynda
DeleteYuck with the toad.
ReplyDeleteThe senior day care program sounds as if it would be good for both of you -- it would give you some worry-free time and he would have the opportunity to be around people and feel as if he's part of the world again. Maybe don't try to talk him into it beforehand, just say we're doing something different today and then take him in. It may help if you think of him as that child who doesn't want to do something new and is throwing the "I don't want to, I don't have to, and you can't make me" tantrum. Your response would be that it's just for today and we'll see how you like it. With him not remembering, you could use that approach each time.
We shall see if he will go in--Lynda
DeleteGood morning, everyone. That sounds like a great idea for Himself and it may seem familiar to him which would be good. Like someone said, I wouldn't say anything ahead of time and I would stop by McDonalds for a coffee after so he will be in a better mood and might remember that instead of being away. It will also give you time to run a few errands and shop without racing through the store. I never thought I would prefer the Kindle to a physical book but the book seems so awkward now. My how our thoughts can change!
ReplyDeleteI too tried a real book---but I agree--It was just too heavy-Lynda
DeleteGreat save for Beau after the toad spit at him. You are always prepared for whatever comes your way. I hope that the Day Program works out and Himself can attend. It would be so nice for you to have a day to yourself each week. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteOH my goodness, that Daycare, even one day/week, sounds like a true blessing! Hope that the referral is quick so he can start. And I think you've gotten great advice . . . don't tell him ahead of time, just say you're doing something different today. I think the idea of stopping @ McD's after for coffee is a great idea, too. Wishing you (AND Himself) good luck.
ReplyDeleteIt is awesome, honestly, that something as simple as the Kindle keeps you happy!
And my dear, you are the QUEEN of special ladies!

OH, and PS . . . good thing you were prepared after meeting that toad! Poor Beau!
Goodness--I feel like Im not the Queen of special Ladies--but--I love that yu think that--Poor Beau eh?-- Spit at by a toad-Lynda
DeleteLynda, you often make me smile!
ReplyDeleteLove your memes. I am sharing one.
Good idea about the weekly sessions for Himself! He needs to get out around people who understand him, and you'd have a bit of time for errands, etc.
It's going to be even hotter here today than yesterday. I do not plan to go anywhere (I have bananas). I already have the A/C on. I can pedal on my elliptical bike to the tune of 90's country. I will be right in front of the A/C!
I know it must be difficult to let Himself's tantrums to roll off your shoulders. Just let it out by 'talking' to us.
{{{HUGS}}}
Oh yu are so good--- Thank yu for writing--Very hot here too-Lynda
DeleteThe above comment at 207 is me!
DeleteHi Lynda
ReplyDeleteI'm excited about the possibility of the day program for himself. Having some time to yourself Wahoo. He might really like it....might think he's the Dr. there but thats ok. I hope you two can give it a try soon.
Change is difficult for himself but I'll be hopeful it works out well. You need a break.
Poor Beau. So glad you were close as poor Beau could have been harmed by that frog.
Hot here. Each day getting hotter. We're headed for air temps of 100 degrees in St.Louis.
When it gets rough with himself....play your piano, read your book...go outside or upstairs.
Make today special. YOU are special.
Hugs
Yes--I love the piano Lynda
DeleteHi Lynda, it's Kathy. I really like the idea of himself going to the senior center for one morning a week. It gets him out of the house, around other people, and lets you have some down time. I would also like to look like that woman in the long white dress but I doubt that will ever happen. I, too, look more like the meme below her! We must just be happy with who we are. Today it's in the high 90's - Daisy and I will be staying inside for most of the day! Take care and enjoy the rest of your day!
ReplyDeletevery hot here--Lynda
DeleteSo glad someone reminded you of senior daycare ideas, thank goodness. He might balk at first, but should come around. Something different to do. I’m glad you can do some reading, too.
ReplyDeleteLets hope it works--Lynda
DeleteYay! I recall suggesting you find a day care for Himself, but I guess I figured that one didn't exist "there in the bush." I hope it will be the answer to your prayers!
ReplyDeleteOh I hope it will help me -- Lynsa
DeleteI ment to type-- LYNDA --LOL
DeleteHi Lynda: The seniors centre sounds like a fantastic idea. He probably won't like it at first but probably after 1 visit would like it more, And it gives you a chance to do a few errands. Take him to McDonalds after as a reward! May make it more desirable to go to the centre! Hope Beau is ok. Have a good evening. Brenda
ReplyDeleteHi Brenda--We shall try it--He may not go in tho--We swill see--LOL--Lynda
DeleteI meant to type-- Lynda
Deleteanother book lover here. I volunteer at the library. Does your library have ebook loans? Ours does via Libby. That way I don't have to buy them!
ReplyDeleteCould you tell Himself that some of his ex-patients want to talk to him? It might make him feel wanted and be happy to go. Or at least go. D
