I must remember to be strong!

Well, It has been quite a night-- 21 power outages yesterday--  I thought I would go crazy--  We were out to Son#3's house for dinner--came back and still more power outages-- The power seemed to stay on overnight however! so--because I get up so early, I had time to call "Hydro One"----and---  I demanded to speak to a real person--NO MORE TEXTS--and you know what???--A REAL PERSON CALLED ME BACK--told me there was a tree burning on the power line causing sparks which  cut our power  making the line go off and on-He said they found the problem around midnight--Lord love a Duck! For 2 days I had to live with that!

Last night however, at Son#3's place, we really enjoyed the Thanksgiving meal--I ate everything--but--(always that big "butt" eh?)---I forgot that I have no gall bladder---so--as I said before---  eating everything did not agree with me--a Butterball  Turkey--with gravy--and butter in the vegetables plus dessert-- and there I was rolling around in bed, thinking why do I feel so sick?--And I was sick--- so sick! ---and I still do not want to eat anything to-day--How could I forget about not having a Gall Bladder?--

It is only 2 degrees this AM--I had to exchange coats is the front  closet for warmer wear---jackets with gloves in the pockets--
This is the Piano tuner  --He was here yesterday--The piano sounds so good again- He comes twice a year- keeps  this piano sounding  so good-- but--it was one more thing to live thru yesterday as one must be quiet as he tunes--

We have leaves everywhere--  kinda a big mess--I keep hoping the wind will blow them away--but--it seems that the wind is blowing more in---

So----  Are you enjoying the ride to-day??  I hope so--- everyday is an adventure it seems!----The challenge is dealing with every adventure--
The 6 best Doctors above--sunshine, water, rest, air, exercise, and diet ---help keep us healthy--so we can enjoy the ride--

--------------true isn't it-----but-- there are times I forget that we can handle what we are given---I must remember to be strong!-----sending out hugs to you---

  1. So glad that the problem w/the power was discovered and you have power back.

My, looks like son #3 had lots of food! But oh no on the GI upset. *SIGH* Hope that you're feeling better too day.

That’s great that the piano tuner was there. Now you have a good-sounding piano!

Yup . . . same leaf situation here. It’ll be that way for awhile.

YES! Strong women aren’t born, they are made by the storms they walk through.

  2. It's Kathy. I always overeat on Thanksgiving, even when I tell myself to stop! There is so many good things that I just can't resist. I'm so sorry it made you sick during the night - AND that you've had 2 days of power issues. I hope today everything goes smoothly for you. I woke up with quite a cold - had to cancel my 2 events this evening. Our temps are very close to freezing this morning as well - guess sometime today I need to put on some warm clothes and pull in the tomatoes and peppers! It seems we went from winter to summer - and now summer to winter. What happened to Spring and Fall? Not many leaves yet at our house but they are coming! Have a good day.

  3. Happy Thanksgiving, Lynda! Extended good wishes to your whole family, extended, and the pets and all! Sorry about those power outages... must have been terribly frustrating!

I went and got my next Covid shot this morning, so, grateful for all those advances and that I have access.

  4. Oh my goodnes, the frustration with the power outages. I'm shocked you actually got to speak to a human and they were able to tell you what was going on.
Thanksgiving at sons house looks to be perfect. I'm so glad you no longer have to kill yourself preparing food. So sorry to hear you got sick. What a bummer. Goodness you are a tough lady. You figure IT out, fix what you can, and keep on keeping on.
Its quite chilly in St.Louis but sunny. I've transferred some of the clothes. I need to finish that project.
Yesterday, we got Covid booster and flu shot. I was reluctant to get both at the same time but no issues. It was difficult to get two appointments. I think the flu/covid at the same time is for their convenience.
So happy piano is perfect again. Enjoy the heck out of it. Make a joyful noise.
Hoping himself was ok yesterday and he's at Lodge today.
Great inserts. I always look forward to your daily blogs and clever, funny, insightful inserts.
Leaves still green here. Its been so dry I doubt we'll see falls beauty.
Home from gym. Gotta make a small grocery run again.
Feel better. Take good care. Play your piano. Smile.
    Hugs

  5. I am happy that the reason for your power outage was found. Let's hope it is fixed fast.
Great dinner! I empathize with your pain. I have the same thing with too much fat cuz of my pancreatitis and Crohn's. I have pills I take before anything with fat...even plant based fat. Were you not given any pills?
Beautiful day here! Only high 50sF but sunny and just a bit breezy. Leaves continue to fall. There must be more leaves in the area than hairs in all of the heads of the (mostly) old people in my building!
A bit of Sadie stuff today...never ends even in my small apartment. Trying to pay bills, but it is Columbus Day in the US. Banks are closed and no mail delivery.
That's ok. I have enough to do. The ones I pay by getting cashier's checks at the bank and mail (I see the $ is out of my account that way when I check my balance online) will wait 'til tomorrow. There were a couple I could pay online.
Been thinking of starting a new crochet project. It's not as easy as it used to be...kitties who like to be by their 'mama' really like to grab onto the yarn. And how can you get upset at the little dears just being themselves?
Hope your furbies are doing well. Furby is a work I learned on SparkPeople.
    All for now. Sure hope you're feeling better and really wish I could hear your piano! {{{HUGS}}}

  6. What a problem with the power. I trust that the tree on fire was not part of a large forest fire as it would have been too close for comfort. Think how those poor people involved in around the fires all summer had so much to worry about. Was the Lodge open today for Himself or is this the actual holiday?

I went to the store for a few items and of course bought more than planned. The pork loins were on sale so I got one to stick in the freezer till later when I'll put it in the crock pot and make shredded pork which I then freeze in serving sizes. Great with a little BBQ sauce for a sandwich. Cooking has sure become simpler. Have a great day! D

  10. Wow! good that you found out why your power kept going off! I can only imagine how scary and frustrating that would be - food in the freezers, no internet service, etc! Happy that you had a great dinner at your son's house. Hope you have recouped from the stomach pain! But we only get to eat that turkey and dressing and gravy once a year so I can totally understand why you ate it! Hope you are feeling OK tonight! Love your blogs....you are so open and frank with all of your life and adventures....makes me feel like I know you personally although we have never met in person!
