Make to-day a special Day--

Good Day--  Time to rise and shine--It is Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada--"Turkey Day" on Sunday, or Monday--
I am trying very hard to  to keep in mind  that I am exchanging this day in my life to use  for something important, as it says above--

You see, yesterday  was a "washout"---all our house phones stopped--and Himself is not good  using the cell phone--We live in the bush---our phone service and internet service is provided  by a tower , at the end of our road--It comes into the house here , in a tiny black box, which I found out is over 10 yrs old---will not accept the new Panasonic high tech house  phones-They cut out after 15 seconds--- I was told (after exchanging 2 sets of house phones), that--we need a new upgraded black box----But---  (always that "big Butt")--It is a Holiday weekend----  so this tiny new black box will not arrive  for a very long time---AND----- I guess it's up to me to install it--

I'm afraid that I'm not good  with all this technology--they had me crawling on the floor, unhooking this--and that--with that expression  that you see above- I really was quite screwed up---

BUT----One must look on the bright side  --- the internet is working-- the cell phone works-- I am alive---I am not ill-- I shall count my blessings-- To-day IS ANOTHER DAY---so----I shall look forward to something wonderful happening to-day---

Lord love A Duck! --- I wish you all comfort on difficult days, rainbows to follow the clouds---and--  patience to accept what you cannot change--

  1. I loved that last poem. It was beautiful. Be sure to mention that black box during dinner and hopefully one of your more tech minded sons will pop over to put it in for you. Lots of special days this month. The 10th is my Rod's birthday. He would have been 67. The 15th is our wedding anniversary. This would be the 23rd, and I turn 62 on the 18th. There are plans to be with friends in the city on the 10th and so far the other two days are up in the air, but I'm sure I'll find ways to make them special. The next couple of weeks are a 'little hard' but the last 3 or 4 I've been supporting my two older sisters through some very hard times for them, so I'm hoping we all just have a nice reprieve from problems. All three of us! ((Hugs))

  2. LOVE that Winnie the Pooh meme. Sooooooo true! Happy Thanksgiving weekend.

OH my gosh! You have to install that phone modem yourself? I’d be in huge trouble if I had to do that, for sure.

Glad at least that the cell phones and the internet are working. PHEW for small blessings.

    HUGS and blessings.

  3. Lynda, today will be better, I promise.
Love the memes, except that one about wasting time. Time is never wasted. Even if we're playing...we all need that, too.
The meme about what a wonderful world is a song by Louie Armstrong. I once bought an entire CD just for that song. I do it at karaoke sometimes.
And thanks for the wish poem by Emerson.
My grandma got me into poetry at 5 years old.
Oh, do I know how that plugging, unplugging, resetting stuff that tech suppport wants you to do. Sometimes you can say, "I just did that!" They will say, "Do it again." Pain in the neck (and lower places)
Karaoke is tonight, and I can hardly wait. Did not like missing the last 3 weeks.
Enjoy your holiday. Eat what you want and, maybe, make up for it with a bit more exercise in the next couple weeks. That's what I did on holidays when I was on our old website.

  4. As usual, loved all the inserts. The Lucy one cracked me up.
Uugghh electronic stuff. Can one of the boys or grandson hook that up for you? I'd be stuck. Sorry about the phones...so frustrating. You handle those tekkie issues so well. I'm not tekkie and get so frustrated. The plus is you have internet and cell service.
Much cooler in St.Louis. I'm not turning on the furnace but it is quite chilly in the house.
Off to do errands, housework etc. Coffee maker died so need to get a new one. The Keurig single serves, which I love, do not last long...at least not for me. Bananas on the list again.
Glad yesterday was good with himself. I do hope the nice ladies follow through with what they offered...assessment and HELP.
    Have a wonderful day.
    Hugs

  5. Had to laugh at your phone quandry. I had to do that recently but I played dumb, asked enough questions and "misunderstood" their suggestions so they sent someone out to do it. I'll admit I use my age to my advantage sometimes (86) because they are never sure how much I do still know. I think I referred back to asking the operator for a number and the techs have no idea what I mean. We have lived thru so many changes and advancements (?) that I wonder what it will be like for my grandchildren when they are elderly. Scary thought. D

    1. YOU are really 86??---I will be 81--- So--what is 86 like?-- What is going to happen to me at 86?--like--what part of me is going to fall apart?--Crazy isn't life?--Right now, recently, the ends of my fingers are numb--hard to pick up things--Lynda

  6. It's Kathy. I hate all this new technology. They (the big corporate THEY) want us to use our cell phones for everything now. I was trying to get into the MacDonald's app because we just wanted a quick lunch yesterday after babysitting our littlest grandson. It took me the whole drive home (30 minutes) to figure it out! So frustrating,. I hope you are able to get your new phones working. Enjoy this weekend - I assume you will be with family for your Thanksgiving. I do hope the ladies can have some help for you. But yes, we must always be grateful for the little things! Have a lovely day!

  7. I'm sorry to hear about your phones. That must be a bit frustrating to deal with all of that. I remember you going to get the new ones last week. It's been a nice day here in Ohio. A bit cold at 55 but sunny all day until a little rain awhile ago. I hope your Thanksgiving weekend is wonderful. I know you will enjoy your lovely family meal with the turkey you picked up. Relax and enjoy!:)

  8. Hi Lynda: I'm with you on the tech stuff. I am absolutely no good with it at all. It will be tough with himself not able to use a cell phone. Hopefully the doctors etc. all have your cell phone number. It's getting cool down here now too. How did it go with the ladies visiting and the Lodge on Friday. Great memes today. Enjoy your evening.
