It's Kathy. I hope you have a productive meeting with the two women. Wishing you a very good day. We're off to my daughters to watch her little one while she goes to the dentist. Honestly, I'd rather be snuggled up under the covers. It's a cold and dreary morning here!
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy--It has been a busy day--(Every day is a busy day!)- Yes, the Ladies are looking ion to who can assess Fred--They were vedry kind --said they will get some help for me-(Everyone says that--but--- nothing happens--LOL) -_Lynda
DeleteI woke up late today and skipped the coffee machine - getting dressed and heading just a few blocks away. I'd won an eBay auction for a walker and was late to pick it up. I met a lovely gentleman who helped me get it in the car, which was really nice. Back home, I tried the walker out and decided it's not going anywhere until it has new wheels. The wheels, if they were car wheels we'd call them bald. Or not road worthy! But that's fine, I know where to buy good ones and I have a handyman on call for this type of job. My goal is to have one walker in the car and the other one in the house. But the car one has to be easy to go in. That part is sorted, the one I've been using is out in the car now and works a treat getting in and out. So I'm using one I have for walking outside in the house right now. It's nice but more suited for going around the block. I saw my GP briefly today and got paperwork for a shot of cortisone in my shoulder with bursitis so that's good - I'll get that sometime next week. And tomorrow is Lunch Group - and since Oct is my birthday month (I get SPRING birthdays here!), we're going to a favourite Chinese Restaurant for lunch. It should be fun! I must remember to put my teeth in before I leave home!!! LOL!
ReplyDeleteThe walkers are heavy to lift into the car aren't they? You are smart to leave one in the car-I hope pour shoulder will feel better with the cortisone--When is your Birthday? Himself has his 95th Birthday on the 25th--Chinese food sounds like a good way to celebrate your special day--Lynda--with hugs
DeleteHa! I’m waiting for the coffee as I type!
ReplyDeleteI hope that the ladies help you as you deal with the dementia. My good friend, who we took out to lunch, is now in a memory care facility. Yesterday, she was much better, although to drowsy from meds. Her husband goes to a support group and it says that it really helps him deal with their new life. It is such a horrible situation. But, as he says, he knows that he is not alone. And, we are all here for you!!!!!
I have a good friend coming over for lunch and then another coming to pick tomatoes. Then, off to watch out grandson play football. The other grandson is now driving!!! How did he get so old so fast?
And yes, I try to stay surrounded by laughter. Some days it’s not so easy.
Have a wonderful and enlightening day today.
Oh, the days are getting colder and shorter here in Idaho. I am not ready for winter…. Your geese said to tell you hi!
Hugs, Jacquie
LOL--- So the geese are there safely??-- Good for them!--Tell them I am happy that they made it out of here-and I'll watch for them in the Spring-living with someone with Dementia is very lonely-- Good thing I have you all-Lynda
DeleteGood morning my friend. The picture of the lady waiting for her coffee to brew really made me laugh out loud, lol. I can relate to that.
ReplyDeleteMy sister has dementia but is a happy person. All the same, I can only visit with her for 2 or 3 hours at a time, I just can't take listening to the repeat, repeat, repeat stories. But I know she can't help it so each time she tells the same story again, I listen as though it was the first time I ever heard it. I cannot imagine how difficult it would be to live with a person who has dementia and I pray you get great advice from the ladies who are visiting you this morning.
I'm glad that Fred enjoys his mornings at daycare and agree, it will probably be a Thanksgiving-related morning today!
Take care, have a nice Thanksgiving weekend. Keep your chin up!
Much love and many hugs to you both. xoxo
Love to your furry pets too! xoxo
DeleteGloria--I LOVE HEARING FROM YOU___ Happy you LOL at that Lady waiting for her coffee--It made me LOL also!--- Keep your chin up too--- LOL--WE are so fortunate aren't we that we are OK--?---I enjoy your pictures pon Facebook--Lynda
DeleteLoved your inserts today.. winnie the Pooh....love him.
ReplyDeleteHoping you get help, direction, guidance from the ladies. Also hoping himself has a good time at the center so you'll have a pleasant evening.
Play your piano. We all love that.
Hugs
Himself has been very easy to get along with to-day--It was a good day-Lynda
DeleteLove all the inserts today, They are so good! Glad himself went to daycare and that you are finally getting a visit regarding himself's care and how to handle him. It sure took a while. Hope all this helps to make a more enjoyable Thanksgiving! Are you sure there are no bears up there? When I lived just north of Parry Sound there were some around there - not big ones but there. Glad you don't take the dogs out til it gets light. Have a good night. Play the piano.Hugs Brenda
ReplyDeleteFunny-==-We know bears are around but this year we have not even seen one---- but--I am careful with the garbage--take it to the bins almost daily at the boat launch--Lynda-
DeleteHoping the visiting ladies give you some good tips!
ReplyDeleteThey were very good--Lynda
DeleteFunny lady! Just my kinda friend!
ReplyDeleteChompers...yes I have uppers and lowers. I remember my mama (maybe this was before denture sealants) would move her tongue up and make her uppers fall down. Then she would push them out of her mouth with her tongue and catch them. We were intrigued and would laugh out loud every time.
Day care sounds good for Himself. He always is happier afterwards, if I am correct.
Only in the 60s here, chilly wind, lotsa leaves.
My oil change is scheduled for Tuesday at 11 AM. Will have him check brakes, too.
My right hearing aid is hiding. I war a warm hat yesterday. I have a feeling that when I removed the hat, the aid went flying. Must do a thorough search. If I can't locate it, the VA audiologist will send me a new one.
I got a spam text message supposedly from my bank. It wanted me to click a link to verify a purchase. The link didn't go through when I clicked it, so I called my bank. My bank had cancelled my card because of a bogus $1 charge to Google. That's what the text was trying to say. The bank lady said the text was from Singapore. I asked her if she had to cancel my card (it was pretty new). She said yes cuz if she didn't the text people from Singapore would take all my money! Luckily, I was able to go to my local branch and get a new card right away. Now I just have to tell all my bill people and Amazon the new card number and delete the old card number...again!
Let's hope the weekend will be free of these annoyances, relaxing and fun.
You will enjoy seeing family and eating good food on your Thanksgiving holiday.
I will go to karaoke.
Fun for us both...let's hope for all your followers, too. {{{HUGS}}}
So you have "high speed choppers" also?--I do too--a bridge on top--I had to take the cart for an oil change also-- seems that--- time of year--then snow tires the end of the month---Too bad yu had that scam on yer banking-- Whatta terrible nuisance eh??-and--I hope you enjoyed the Karaoke--Lynda
DeleteOhhhhhhh no. Coffeemaker has to be on the job! Glad you got to have coffee before taking the fur babies out and glad no GRIZZLIES!
ReplyDeleteGlad that Himself will have the Lodge today! Good for BOTH of you. HOPE that the ladies coming to speak to you are able to offer some help.
Lovely, inspiring meme’s today. Thanks for sharing and wishing you a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving.
Yu are so kind--- Thanks Barb! --- Those 2 Ladies were helpful--but--no assessment--They are looking who can do an assessment--Lynda
DeleteI'm thankful the ladies are coming to talk to you while he is at the Lodge. You will be able to talk honestly that way without his input. Please be careful when walking the dogs with other critters out there in the dark - never thought about that!
ReplyDeleteCooled down here which was lovely but who knows what next week will bring! Mother Nature seems to have a mind of her own! For some reason she doesn't seem to be listening to me, either. D
The 2 Ladies were so nice--but--no assessment--They are looking into that for me--cooler here too with rain--Lynda
DeleteI'm thinking you have already learned a lot of the advice that the ladies will give you - just from living for 2 years with Himself. But hopefully they will give you a couple of good ideas for trying different things. One thing that I remember when my mom was in Assisted Living for her Alzheimers is that they were always playing music...as they said it was very soothing and calming to the residents. And it was always different kinds - not just soothing type - but oldies, and country, etc. And they tried to give them lots of exercise - such as sitting in a circle and batting a balloon around like it was a volleyball - not letting it touch the floor. I often sat in the circle with mom and played too! At least once a week someone came and entertained them with music - either piano playing, singing, etc. and they were encouraged to clap, sing along, or even get up and dance! Dementia is such a sad disease. I have heard it called "the long good-bye" . Hugs to you Lynda!
ReplyDeleteAwwwww Sandra--Now I am crying--"The Long Good Bye"----so sad isn't that?--This wonderful caring loving man is definitely not that person anymore-I miss my husband very much--Thank yu Sandra--Yu have been so good to write --Lynda
