It's me!--I am on here early!---unbelievable!-- So--No Day Program for Himself--- but--We have to head to town anyway as soon as Sadie , that wonderful cleaning Lady --(who as you know, is really me!) gets here to tidy up------There is so much to do in town , I don't know what to do first---but, I have my list---Do you all make "lists" and refer to that list on your travels around your town?---otherwise I forget everything-
-Son #2 is back home---He did so much for us---stuff I wouldn't even know to do when you move---
-So, Halloween is coming up-- I am not prepared--- It seemed to come so fast--- at least we have no snow , but just north of here, there is snow-- It's coming----- not to-day, but soon!
Yesterday I called movers . There is such a variation in prices between each mover---We haven't booked anyone yet but will soon--And--of course Lopez and I have "hoofed " it up the back road and he did not do his business--which means, another walk soon---
The election in the States is coming up soon---quite scare-y---I want to say more----LOLOL----but--well you know, it's not my country---- but---- well, you know---"Women" hold up half the sky--We Women, we are -so in touch with reality---(Not My Country!)- ---
SO---- I shall read your comments--and yesterdays comments shortly---and best "stick my nose to the grindstone" , as Dad used to say, and get off of here--
I am so happy that Son #2 helped you prepare for your move. He really is helpful and it will be so nice living close to him. I make lists for everything and don't think I would remember much if I didn't. Enjoy your day.
ReplyDeleteSon #2 was definitely a "Saint""--LOL---I agree-- Lynda-
DeleteDefinitely . . . my lists are my brains. Withoug my lists, things don’t get done.
ReplyDeleteSo happy that son #2 is being such a wonderful help.
HOPE you find just the right mover. It . . . is . . . a . . . huge . . . challenge. I remember moving 17 yrs. ago. Those are not memories you soon forget! LOL
Hugs

Great saying--"My lists are my brains""--tell me where to go next too-- It was a good day here--a bit too warm tho--Lynda
DeleteWow! You are early, sis! What a nice surprise.
ReplyDeleteI sometimes make lists. Not so much for errands, just 'to do' lists. It's very satisfying to cross or check things off as you accomplish them.
I heard on the radio that we may get snow tomorrow. It was a Minneapolis station, though, and we are 45 miles SE. Maybe we'll escape.
Too bad Fred doesn't have his program today. It may be one of the last times he gets to go. I know he will be going to a new place soon.
Lynda, with you in town...will Sadie be working by herself? She's magic!
I have an errand or two today, also. Not much. And plans for Sadie (or her clone...isn't it good she has one).
I'll check later for comments on this comment and yesterday's
Please be safe and happy. We all need you in our lives. You have no idea how much joy you bring us. {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie
Maggie--I knew yu would be impressed at the early morning blog--- They predict snow here tomorrow night also--Sadie did a lot early this AM-before I went to town--Bless her heart eh??----Yes I shall stay safe--YU know, when we move I will be closer to yu----Its raining here outside right now--Lynda
DeleteHad to laugh at the making a list comment. Yes, I make lists of what I want to do when I leave home and Yes, I leave them on the kitchen counter. Big help! Dot
ReplyDeleteDot--- my list gets left in car sometimes--or I lose it---Cray eh?-Lynda
DeleteA busy day! As I was thinking of your move and the family dynamics -- with some of the kids not in favor of the relocation -- I'm wondering if this has affected Son #2's relationship with his siblings. He seems to be the only one who is supportive and accepts the reality of aging. The others could certainly be doing their part to help, like making those phone calls to screen movers. But oh well, whatcha gonna do....
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, "the list" helps. When we sold the family home and moved my father to my area, I had a checklist -- so helpful! I wish I'd been that organized in the years we made cross-country moves (4 times). Hugs, Leslie
He was very careful speaking to me --alone--not in front of others--I wish so very much they all were more like him-- I love them all--but---well--one day they will understand-- Getting "old" is hard at times--LOL--LYndA
DeleteIt's Kathy. We've had so many warm days and nights but today starts the real late October weather - with rain. I feel for the kiddos who will be going door to door in their costumes with jackets and/or other layers on. Hopefully the rain will stop before evening comes. Dad will be taking Roman and Jake so my daughter can hand out the candy. No one comes to our house - I'm glad! Yes, I make lists and bring them with me. Without my list I would be lost! Tomorrow I will be going to the grocery store for the first time since August - we need so much food!!! I have a huge list! Have a good day!
ReplyDeleteKathy--YOU asre going to store??--That is good eh?-- They predict rain tomorrow night here--Lynda
DeleteHi Lynda, thanks for chuckles and especially thanks for notes. You are very important to us.
ReplyDeleteGotta make lists. Being pulled in all directions can cause things to be forgotten.
You need help purging, sorting figuring out what goes and then packing. Yes, movers will pack but at quite a hefty fee. I hope you find a reasonable, reputable company. A rather long distance move is quite pricey, as you are finding out. My concern is what will you take, what isn't going and what to do with it. Wish I could help as you do need help.
It will all work out. Stay positive and strong.
No Halloween candy, no kids come. I don't buy it as I'll eat it. I get to dodge that problem.
Can you get some of the grandkids to help you pack, sort etc? Next month will fly by very quickly.
Be safe.
Hugs
Marge/St.Louis
no--no help with Grandkids--no help -period!--- but--there are packers--It will get done-- Lynda
DeleteAh, but I only BUY "the good stuff" which makes it harder to stay out of! LOL! Still, I don't want candy I do NOT like laying around if it doesn't get given away, because I know myself and that I'd eat it anyway and not enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteTry Barb Try--- Thats all yu can do--It may give us an extra year of life-- if we avoid it
DeleteForgot to sign it--LOL--Its me--"the" candy lover--Lynda
DeleteLynda, I always make lists...glad #2 has stepped up to help. Hire a reputable mover....have heard horror stories about some people holding your stuff for ransom or losing it...
DeleteHope Himself deals well with this.
No candy here, we live in the country off the beaten path and no trick or treaters plus if we bought candy, we'd fall off the darn wagon and eat it.
We do not get the Trick or Treaters either-- Lynda
DeleteHi Linda! I hope you had a good day! I depend on lists. I only like dark chocolate so that helps a lot to not want so many candies. Another nice day in Ohio. We need a frost though to keep the allergies out of my chest. Leaves are everywhere. How is it going for you? Hugs!
ReplyDeleteLaves everywhere here ---- Dark chocolate is so good--I agree-Lynda
DeletePraying for the right moving company ... do you know anyone who's moved in the last couple of years that can recommend?
ReplyDeleteYep, I keep all sorts of lists. My daughter showed me how to use a list app on my phone and it sooo helpful. I no longer forget my shopping list.
Hey good idea--=Put the list on the phone-- OK--I shall ask my kids--- Lynda
DeleteLynda, here in California we have something called BBB for Better Business Bureau. If I'm going to hire a contractor or something like that I check the Better Business Bureau and she what rating the contractor or company has and if complained have been lodged against them. Not everyone registers with the BBB. I don't know if you have something similar. Maybe ask Matt. If anyone would know, Matt would. He is worth his weight in gold. God Bless him for coming to your aid.
ReplyDeleteGood luck finding good, reliable movers! We moved from California to Texas 11 years ago. Packed a few things, like important papers in the car when we drive, but the movers packed the rest, way safer and better than we ever could! Nothing broke, they were great! No way could we properly pack stuff for a moving truck! Sure it costs, but it is done right! We were in our 60’s then. Moved to a 4 bedroom house, newer and modern. The movers were so strong, you did not have to empty chests of drawers, they carried them in, set them down, no filling drawers up! Amazing. So glad #2 is helping so much! Take care! Doris from Texas, used to be Ethelmerz from Spark
