Things we learn-from a Dog!

Good morning---  on a cold, windy day--not snowing--yet--but----it looks like it could happen any minute. We do have  leaves on our trees --on some of the trees, but they are blowing in the wind--Yu can feel winter is on our doorstep--

We did have a wonderful get together at Son #3's , last evening-The decorations for Halloween were  so  Halloween-y----the food excellent-the company great, and Himself walked up the stairs and into the house, with help, and enjoyed being out ---We celebrated Thanksgiving AND  Halloween----  Son #2 and Son #1 could not make it , and were missed-- Families seem to have  different ideas and conflicting views on life  but it certainly wasn't noticed last night---and yes, I'm sure that every family gives God a headache at times---I always walk away, shaking my head, as I apologize to the "good Lord"--But, it was a lovely outing and we appreciated being a part of it!
So--to-morrow  our home goes on the market---The Real Estate will have it online---  and, we will "move on"------ hopefully it will be a good move--- a good place to live---and easier for me to  handle--Lord love a Duck! --What one must do as one ages--I never remember my Gramma or Grampa "downsizing"--  I think they went right from their farm house, to the hospital and eventually passed--

Well, Son#2 just sent a couple of pictures of the village we are moving to-- It looks very quiet-- I like "QUIET"----------------------                ---The Grocery ---"QUIET" is good!

-                                ----looks lovely doesn't it--- a park along a main street

Enjoy your day---- Take care of your pets--- Remember to talk to them-- and I shall  look  in on you all, this evening---Remember to be strong---NO CRYING!

  1. So glad you had such a nice day before the next step in selling. Good time to relax. The new town looks so peaceful and, as you said, quiet. I live in a small town and they take awhile to get used to but now wouldn't go back to a city.

Good luck on selling and I'm glad you aren't trying to make a lot of changes to the house decor before the next step. Dot

  2. Am excited for your next chapter of living. You and Himself have earned an easier and quiet life. Letting go of our circumstances that have become burdens is hard, but the pleasures of your lake life have dimmed. Enjoy them as memories and time to create new ones.

  3. Glad you had a good time @ son #3’s yesterday. OH you are so right. I can imagine the headaches families cause God if WE have headaches with our ‘little’ families. LOL

  4. I'm very happy that you had a nice Thanksgiving, and the move you're making is a must! You are doing all the inside and outside work yourself and you're not a 'young chicken' anymore, Lynda.

I live in SW Ontario and our closest village is Burford but that doesn't seem to be where you're heading. May I know the name of where you'll be living?

It will be a big change for both you and Fred, but a wonderful one. Being so close to your son is important, especially at your ages.

I'm still plugging along in my own apartment. I'll be 90 next birthday and hope I never have to move to a 'home.' My children can't take me for various reasons and I always vowed I would never live with them, I don't want to be a burden.

I had a nice Thanksgiving, my son and his wife came for a visit yesterday and brought me a turkey meal with all the trimmings plus some pumpkin trifle my DIL made. They do this every year at Thanksgiving and Christmas, so that I always have these special meals.

Take care Lynda, I don't reply often on your blogs but I do read them daily.

Love and hugs to you and Fred and Lopez. xoxo

    1. Gloria--- I shall write more to yu later--but--It's LAKEFIELD --near Peterborogh--Wouldn't it be wonderful if yu were close to that?-- It seems like a quiet area which is what I want so I can drive still--I'm not used to big time traffic-It will be a big move--to a 2 bedroom place on the main floor--Matt will be upstairs for the 1st yr --then close by in his new house -- I feel it will be a good move!-- I shall pray that yu might be close by-- Hugs, Lynda

  5. This time, Lynda, I am copying this post and emailing it to myself. If it disappears again, I can bring it back up to send again email! Did you see my late comment when I apologized for its disappearance?
The photos are great! Foodland is open 24 hours. That's convenient for some people. Hopefully, you won't need that...but it's open if you do. A park on Main Street is great, too.
Happy you had a happy time yesterday. Did you celebrate your wedding anniversary, too?
Not much going on here. May go out for ice cream...I'm out. It's doctor's orders for me to eat it every night.
Beautiful outside, but C-O-L-D! Windy, too. Some sun, though. We have a mix on our trees, too. Yours are beautiful, too, I see.
Joanne, who you talked with, fell today making her bed. The rescue squad had to come get her up and into her recliner in the living room. She had a big painful bruise on her shin. Otherwise she seems okay.
I'm off to a snack and snooze. Will check back later, of course. Here's hoping we all enjoy our day...{{{HUGS}}} Love, your sis Maggie

  6. It's Kathy. The neighborhood you're moving into looks lovely. I know it will be hard to leave but what an adventure you will have! I saw the physical therapist again today - she always makes me feel better. She tells me that I'm doing well and she can tell where in my body my muscles are tight - which is helpful to know that it's not just in my head! She added some stretches to my plan for this week. We have some warmer weather on the way which is good because we really need to clean up the garage before it snows! Life can be challenging! Have a good day.

  7. Lynda! What a lovely, lovely town - and the apartment looks so nice. Both my hubs and I are so happy to know that you have a plan and someone nearby that will offer support and assistance! I know I don't comment to often, but I read and share with my hubs every day. Sending many hugs to you, dear Lynda. Your strength is remarkable and you give me hope for my own future!

    1. Wow! Kimberley---Yu share the "talk" with yer Hubs?--Ever nice! I am impressed! ---Yes Moving will be hard--We love our home here--but ---I'm not going to get younger and I truly believe Himself will enjoy life more if I could spend more time with him and not be always cutting grass or blowing snow--hard to give up one's home--- but worse to be hospitalized sand my piano comes with us--plus Lopez and Sushi--so, life should be OK--I HOPE! -- Lynda

  8. Hi Lynda, I'm so pleased you had a lovely Thanksgiving Anniversary at sons house.
Your new town looks perfect. I lived in a small town (2,000) people my entire life and enjoyed it very much. Now I live in a city of 90,000 and it's very noisy and traffic is horrible. I wish we could return to our little home town but there are no services. We moved here to be closer to only son but...after we'd been here 2 yrs. he divorced his wife of 20 years and moved an hour from here. I didn't know any of that until he moved out. Talk about disappointed.
I seldom see him and our plans to have help and support close are gone.
Your close by sons dont seem to come by very often. Yes, youll miss them but things have changed. The fun times on the dock havent happened for quite a while. I think youll really enjoy a small, friendly, quiet town.
I know God scratches his head and probably gets a headache with me...lol
It's cold in St.Louis. Freeze warning tonight. Furnace on.
    Hugs and blessings
