And if the music is good, dance!

Whatta great thing to wish for!---I need to read this daily! ---"When things look empty, I wish you hope"-and, to-day, I need "hope"---  Lopez, the Chihuahua, just did his business open the kitchen floor--Is there any "hope"?----I dunno---  I have trained many dogs, and never have I gone thru this! -----  Maybe I should "pray" for strength----or-----maybe--should I just give up?--

Anyway, the scales were  good to-day--182.5---  but---  I really want to get out of the '80's --and into the 70's--so----the 10 minutes of exercise might be the key--vigorous  walking, to the highway and back--and maybe, another few minutes on arm weights as my arms look like I am 1 million yrs old--all jiggly! -

--All the excuses in the world eh?---  I must be stronger than my strongest excuse-- Get out there and just do it! The temperature outside was supposed to be zero--  It isn't --yet! ---Hopefully it will get-up there soon!---I'll pack my music and my cleats on may shoes and "hoof" it (as Dad used to say)to the mail box and back--
AND-----  I might even dance! --Lord love a Duck!

  1. Dance even if the music isn't good.
I LOVED the wish list. I want that for everyone. Thank you for sharing.
    Almost 170s...soon. Almost there.
Be very careful if you do walk outside even with cleats.
Lopez...I don't know....he's more than I can deal with. You are a patient Woman!
    Hope it "warms up" today.
    Be safe and stay well.
    Hugs

  2. Your patience with Lopez is more than I could muster. . . I have had a lot of dogs over the years and never had any problem getting them trained for business outside . . . but then again I have never had a wee dog . . .always at least 70 lbs. Our Newf is 97 lbs
We are supposed to be up in the 60's on Friday this week . . . Spring is near.

  3. Relax. Whomever talked you into getting a Chihuahua is to blame! That is one of their natural things. Just keep cleaning stuff handy and nearby. Tiny dogs are like that. So sorry. Hope your temps rise up the way they should. Take care walking.

  4. Twice I lost my replies! If you really need to address Lopez's behaviour maybe you should give him to your son that said he would take him and get a different dog. Congrats to the pilot on becoming a captain - didn't mention this before. Love the quotes and we should all remember and practice them. Take a relaxing walk and relax. Hope it gets warmer soon.

  5. Just a few things to think about. Are you using an enzymatic cleaner when you clean the floor? If you are not, there is a good chance Lopez is smelling the area where he has gone before. When you take him out do you take hime to the same spot every time so he knows what to do there? Do you take a treat out with you every time and tell him immediately what a good boy he was and praise him with a treat? Do you take him out every hour? Can you hope that he will get better as the weather gets warmer and he will be out more? Have you thought about what will happen next winter when you can't let him him out for more than a few minutes? Perhaps it really is time to let your son take him.

  7. Yes! We have to be stronger than our strongest excuse.

Awwww, little Lopez really is a challenge, but don't give up! For sure, I rewarded Miss LIlly every time she did her business
    appropriately. That worked wonders.

HUGS to you and hope today's a good day!

  8. Congratulations on the weight loss.

Since you have so much on your plate with himself. It might be time to give little Lopez to your son. I am sure with all the stress you are under wee little Lopez feels it and doesn't know what to do. So he either gives you the sign he needs to go out and you don't see it or he is so confused he just does his business where ever. I gather from what you are having to do you have not had time to take him out on an hourly basis.

I know this is going to be a hard decision to make but the more upset you get when he does his business in the house the more upset little Lopez is going to get he doesn't understand what is going on. Plus if you get rid of him you will have more energy to concentrate on helping himself. One thing if you do get rid of him DO NOT GET ANOTHER dog. Big or small there is going to be an adjustment. I know it will be hard to not have two dogs but do you really have the energy to have two dogs and take care of them and himself? Only you can answer that.

Praying for you that you make the best decision for you.

  11. Ahhhhhh. Little Lopez just doesn’t want to go outside in the cold. Please don’t give up. I wouldn’t want to do my business outside in that weather either! Lol
And, at least he has little piles. My 86 pound dog has pony size! Ha ha
    Hugs!!!!

  12. I love to dance! Even with arthritis...doc saying I need a new knee, OA in hips DDD, etc. When we go to karaoke on a Saturday night...I can't help but MOVE to the music. I never feel pain when I dance!

Poor you with poor bitty Lopez. Wonder if sometimes he doesn't have time to notify you when he has an urge to go...it just comes and he can't stop it.

You are a strong woman to exercise in the cold!

I did over 10 minutes yesterday and a full 15 minutes today on my elliptical exercise bike.

Lynda, we can do this! Exercise will keep our bones, joints and hearts young. Too bad, after losing and gaining weight over and over, it doesn't seem to help that sagging skin anymore.

    Praying for you and yours and for all on both sides of the Ukrainian conflict. {{{HUGS}}}

  13. Lynda, look where your weight was last year....give yourself credit for
how far you have come...and with all the stuff going on too.

I hope you Dance for no reason, as for Lopez, maybe when the weather breaks he will get better........doubtful as small dogs are notorious for being hard to housebreak.
