The threat of the "Chopper" made my day!

Well, yu just never know what a day will bring! --To-day , so far, is a good day--  It's amazing how a good nights sleep changes one's attitude! Lord love a Duck! I really do feel like a million bucks to-day--

 You see, I slept ALL night--did not wake up, even once!   Usually Himself  , who, is experiencing  delusions of grandeur--begins his ranting and carrying on , about bedtime, and it continues on and off all night.--Last night, I "laid down the law", as Mom used to say-

Before bed, I told him that I was not doing any of the stuff that he imagines is happening-- that all I want is a good night's sleep--that I am almost a million years old, and he is even older, ---so forget all the antics that he thinks he can do (and is unable to do--if yu know what I mean)_let bygones be bygones, that he must be content  that we are alive--- and, stay on his side of the bed, or--the "Chopper" will come!--( my older sister invented "the chopper" when we were kids and had to share a bed at my Grandparents ), and the "Chopper " will--, for sure chop off any limbs that might stray  over to my side of the bed--

I slept ALL night!--  Well, Lopez got me up at 5am----but , that was OK-- He  did his business outside  on the icey snowy  front----Bless his heart!

Some days one just has to be tough--!

  2. I like the idea of "the chopper". I am lucky that my husband does stay on his side of the bed. Unfortunately, I'm the restless one in our home getting up more than once each night. I long for a good night's sleep one day!

  4. OMG, Lynda, I am laughing so hard! I remember you speaking about ‘the Chopper’ before. Yes, there are times when DH’s snoring is loud enough to wake the proverbial dead. I told DH night before last that he NEEDS to sleep on his side and that ends his snoring. I said I was going to somehow attach a tennis ball on the back of his night shirt so he would be uncomfortable enough it wouldn’t be tempting to stay lying on his back, which is when he snores. He’s perfectly fine when he lies on either side. I had a huge needle and sewed a tennis ball midwah down the back of his night shirt. IT WORKED! And he said he got a good night sleep. ME TOO.

    For sure, no alarm clock needed here, either. Miss Lilly is leaping to lick my face by 4 am. That’s usually when I’m ready to wake up anyhow.

    Good job, little Lopez!

    Hugs and here’s to a good Monday.

  6. You are so funny! Glad you got a good nights sleep and that everything is ok for now. Hope it repeats tonight. At least Lopez waited to 5:00 before wanting out. The chopper story is cute. Have a great day.

  9. I'm so glad everything went well last night even if it meant you had to pull out the big guns to get a good night sleep. I pray you are able to get the same kind of sleep tonight.

  13. Making us laugh, again, Lynda. You are good at that!

    Himself still has some (ahem) drive with the antics. That's healthy!

    The chopper is wonderful! I used to have a spouse with restless legs that kicked into me half the night. Be glad you don't have that!

    You're right, too, that a good night's sleep is often a cure all! {{{HUGS}}}
