Years ago, I was part of a website called , "Spark People"--It was a site, with participants from all over the world, who wanted to eat healthy, lose weight-- and learn about a healthy lifestyle-- But, the best part of it , was that there were so many people on this site, and I met a lot of them and still do keep in touch with some. There was no charge to join-
A year or more ago, Spark decided to not allow anyone from outside the U.S. to join and that is how I began to do this blog. --- I enjoy writing, and I find that by sharing my life experiences with others, well, I learned that we all share a lot of the same problems--and the same joys--Do I miss "Spark" ?--I did at first--a lot--but--over time, the day filled up with more different things to do--I never enjoyed Sparking everyday, trying to get points for hours slept--or exercising so many minutes- (as an example)_
So to-day, life just goes on and on--The pitfalls of not "Sparking", is that one must remember to get outside and move-- not eat in my easy chair after supper and then wonder why the scales don't move---and , try to stay positive , no matter what happens each day--I do try to "look ahead"-- and no matter how confused my husband gets at night, he never remembers it--only I do, and I know by morning, he is so much better--I believe that Women hold this world together--- We don't have time to moan and grown-- We must always look ahead, learn from our mistakes, be strong, and always be positive!
So that's my story--- The weather here is pretty awful to-day--freezing rain mixed with snow--and it is, windy and cold. Will Spring ever get here?-- Lord love a Duck! I sure hope so!--I have put my parka away 3X--- then hauled it out again--- Those Canada Geese have not been spotted in this area yet---- They must know something that I'm not aware of---You really are --AWESOME!
Freezing rain here today too. Lots of robins are back here, not today of course but when the sun shines. Always happy to see you have a new blog for us every day. Take care and enjoy the day my friend.
ReplyDeleteWow Willow--- yes---a daily something--and this wy I can hear from each of yu--LOL_-Hugs Lynda
DeleteGood silver linings of not having Spark. I love to read your blogs! Be safe from the nasty weather. I hope it's soon gone.
ReplyDeleteWell, thank yu for redoing and posting a comment--- so good of yu-Lynda
DeleteIt is always wonderful too to hear from yui--=I appreciate it!--HUgs , Lynda
DeleteWe had another round of severe storms, tornado watch and warnings, but it blew through, and it’s finally a bit cooler and air is not so stinky. Texas. Lots of grass fires for days. I’m glad Himself does not remember what he says, have you ever videotaped it, so he knows you are not making it up? Time to get some fresh air outside today!
ReplyDeleteHi Lynda,
ReplyDeleteI sure hope spring gets here soon, too! It is supposed to get into the 40s today. I’m still waiting. I love all your blogs. You are so down-to-earth and feel like a good friend even though I’ve never met you in person. ♥️🌺😊
We are cold here in NH also but yesterday I saw robins and bluebirds so Spring is coming ever so slowly.
ReplyDeleteI missed Sparking a lot at firs but now not so much...I still facebook with many of the friends I was close to.
So glad that you have continued to blog and have community beyond the SparkPeople site. I still don't really care for their new "format", I think the thing I got the most from was the blogging that so many of us were drawn to. I miss its "all in one place" but there you have it. For now, I still have contact with several who are, like me, digital "refugees". Thank goodness we aren't physical ones, as those five million Ukrainians are!
ReplyDeleteKeep on keeping on!
ReplyDeleteI always like your blogs. I miss being able to find my friends' blogs in one place. I know I often miss what they are writing. I am glad I can still find yours.
ReplyDeleteI still miss SparkPeople but you're right, not sparking all day does free up time to do other things. I enjoy reading your blogs every day!
ReplyDelete--so happy that wee still can keep in touch--HUgs to yu--Lynda
DeleteYOU are awesome. And, yes, women do keep the world together.
ReplyDeleteI no longer miss Spark...do miss some of the people.
Grateful you do a daily blog. I enjoy reading about the happenings at your house.
The DARN weather up there.
Come on Spring. Raining down here but better than your weather.
Stay strong.
Hugs
For sure, miss SP. Nothing like it now. It’s the people I miss . . . not so much the site.
ReplyDeleteYou said it . . . women definitely hold this world together . . . always have and always will.
I know – Mother Nature seems to have put a pause in downloading Spring Boooo.
Keeping my parka handy, too.
Hugs

Our weather here in Minnesota is the same as yours! Rain...not quite cold enough for snow until tonight.
ReplyDeleteWe do try to be strong. When we don't feel strong enough we need to love ourselves, know it's ok and tomorrow will be better. Just like your last poster says...I LOVE IT.
{{{HUGS}}}
Uh...next to the last poster ;-)
ReplyDeleteYou are awesome and in control. The geese must have also thought it was too miserable up there. Our weather in Toronto hasn't been great but much better than yours. So I guess the geese are camping out here for awhile waiting for the weather to change. Hope your shoulder and hand are a bit better today. Supposed to get real warm here tomorrow then cold again later in the day. Glad himself is not doing too bad.
ReplyDeleteSorry about your weather Lynda....we are having issues here up til midnight it looks like...I hate severe weather like tornadoes as you hate the snow and sleep.
ReplyDeleteI fixed fake pizza for supper tonight, used "light" English muffins, heated oven to 400, split the muffins, spread low carb pizza sauce on them, on a baking sheet covered in foil, put turkey pepperoni on them, baked for 15 minutes, then put shredded cheese on top and baked till the cheese was almost crusty and presto, pizza. David actually said they were fabulous(low fat/low carb) I thought they were good also.
I don't miss Spark anymore. When I was on it the first thing I did was read your blog. I am so happy that you are still writing about so many issues we are all dealing with. Thank you, you are amazing.
ReplyDeleteYU read my blog first-- ??-=-Thank yu--See? WE really are all the same-Lynda--
DeleteWell my last reply was posted three times! Lol. Hopefully this will only be posted once.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness for Spark People. We all learned so much and we all found you!!!! So glad that you didn’t stop blogging!
so good of yu to say that-- Bless yer heart girl! Lynda
DeleteI don't miss Spark much either, but the only thing I do miss is being able to go to everyone's pages. Even though they have the new site and I heard adding some of the same things back I have no interest in it anymore because of how they ignored everyone outside of the states here.
