So, I have no idea how I got off on this tangent, maybe because I really love this area--The picture always inspires me. We live very close to the Boreal Forest, where the tree line changes ---There is a Provincial Park North of here in the Boreal Forest--which has so much wildlife , and birds, AND BLACKFLIES.
To-day, Himself is going to the Hearing Clinic. The Hearing Aids he wears seem to cause allergies in his ears - I do not know if exterior Hearing aids would solve this problem or not----or--could we afford another kind of "aids"?--
Yesterday I called a chap, a neighbour, whose wife passed last summer and now spends everyday alone, in his home. He kept thanking me for thinking of him--said he finds it hard alone, with no-one to talk to-- His wife had Alzheimers and he took care of her and misses her very much . I wanted to tell him to get a cat---- but------I suppose not all people care for pets-- the 2 of them had no family--sad!---(-Me and my animal's eh??)
Lopez is beside me barking up a storm-- The day has begun--- I best get going-- Hugs--The early morning walk is becoming easier every day-- This week was Day#1--not a long walk, but it's a walk! ----- I finally began!
Lynda, family and pets are what life is all about. Enjoy yours to the fullest.
ReplyDeleteI hope a different kind of aid will be tried on Fred, that may work better for his allergy to them.
Beautiful photo of that lake, I've kept it in my file for photos I put on my laptop desktop. Very nice to look at each time I turn on my laptop!
Take care, enjoy your Wednesday.
Love & Hugs to you, Fred and your furry family xoxo
Hi Gloria-- I wanted to let yu know that Lopez is doing well so far this week--no accidents in the house--THIS WEEK so far--He is very sweet--but--a real challenge to take care of-- smart little guy too---- Lynda
DeleteGood morning! Hoping the warmer weather improves the ability to get outside. Hope the hearing aid place can come up with a solution for the allergy. Maybe it’s the rubber or plastic. Boy, hope they come up with an answer. Take care.
ReplyDeleteOH Lynda, that allergic reaction is a miserable experience. I had a pair when I first started wearing aides that had latex in them. Lordy, my ears were like they were bit by mosquitoes they were so itchy. Had to have the inner ear mold redone in a non-allergenic material. AND this was in the pandemic. The aides were made in China. What a long wait! I wish Fred luck. YOU TOO. Hope they can help.
ReplyDeleteYour area looks so beautiful! Thanks for sharing the picture.
HUGS my dear.

Morning Lynda,
ReplyDeleteI love your 2 sayings at the end of your blog today. Family is everything. And our day turns out the way we look at it.
I hope they come up with a solution for Fred’s hearing aids.
Love the sayings at the end of your blog. Kind of you to call neighbor. Poor man must be incredibly lonely.
ReplyDeleteHoping they find a solution for Fred's ears. Perhaps a behind the ear aid.
Your lakes are lovely. You certainly live in a beautiful area BUT I don't want all the snow you get.
Have a great day!
Hugs
Such a beautiful area you chose to raise your family in.
ReplyDeleteMy frozen blueberries for my morning smoothie come from the Boreal Forest and available here (Central Texas) at Costco's.
I have had allergic reactions to every pair of ear buds and bluetooth items tried for use with my phone. Sigh. Latex has been an issue for me for at least 35 years and I suspect it is undeclared latex that is my issue. Hope y'all are able to find a suitable set of hearing helpers soon.
That call you make to your neighbor means a lot to him. It's not easy being widowed and alone. I watch my mom suffer from losing my dad five years ago daily. So, the littlest thing means so much to that person.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely place to live, such beauty. I hated the mountains when I was little, but now wouldn't change living in Colorado for the world.
I hope they find something that will work for Fred and his hearing aids.
What a gorgeous place!!! I hope everything goes well for your DH. Safe trip. Woohoo for the walks!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous picture. Looks really nice up there but too much winter for me. In the last few years they have advertised Elliot Lake as a great retirement community quite a bit. Hope Fred's hearing aids can get fixed so he will still be able to wear. Glad you started the walks again and sounds like Lopez likes them.
ReplyDeleteLynda, you live in such a beautiful place! Even with the winters, we are lucky to live north!
ReplyDeleteLopez barks when he wants your attention. Hope you caught him before he did his business inside.
Hope they are able to help Himself with hearing aids that don't bother his allergies.
I'm with you on pete...couldn't imagine living without at least one. I did the first couple months I lived here, and it was difficult. {{{HUGS}}}
Beautiful area...I can't Swim though.......so I'd have to wear a
