I pray a lot for peace!

FINALLY --I'm here--went to No Frills for bananas --and $268.00 later--I am home with the bananas plus plus plus--Food prices sure have sky rocketed!---I bought a wee bottle of artificial vanilla  for cooking--for $2.68--the real vanilla --wee bottle again, was $17.98---$17.00 --???--  Isn't that crazy?---  And Himself's cereal still wasn't on the shelf--  In fact the whole cereal aisle was pretty bare!

Anyway, I am back home--ready for a nap (with my book)---  And--We now  have  one  one more hole in the Living room carpet-  compliments of Lopez--Now we have 3 holes--  When Tess was a puppy, she had chewed 2 holes thru the carpet----  We now own a  "holy carpet"!

Lord love a Duck!--And --it is the weekend--- and I hear the Covid Grandkids are feeling good--Their parents I hear are not "up to snuff" yet--as  Mom used to say! ---- So far, we are good--  Himself too--

The sun is out , so what more can one ask eh?

I wish yu all a good day ---- a great weekend--  I wish everyone in the world could have a good day, but it seems that is not happening--
--and I pray a lot for PEACE----  Hugs--

  1. I'm always amazed when I go shopping and you have shelves of nothing. Isn't that the truth that when you step in to get a couple of things, the bill is so much and so many extra items.

    Have a great weekend!

  2. Happy to hear the grands are on the mends and hope the kids follow suit soon.
Grocery shopping isn't fun. You got it done, minus cereal. Yes, empty shelves here in the heartland too. Is what it is.
Lopez making holes in LE carpeting or at least adding to the collection...darn that boy ggrrrr.
We shall all pray for each other and certainly for peace to prevail.
    Have a relaxing, peaceful day.
    Hugs dear lady

  3. Yes, we must all pray for peace. I am concerned about the high prices now at the gas pump and the grocery store. With no extra money coming in, I guess we'll just have to shop smarter! Have a good day today!

  4. Lots of snow coming down here today so be thankful for the sun. Yes grocery prices are out of this world and many things unavailable. The Kellogg factory says they have no idea when Rice Krispies will be back on the shelves so none for my DH either. They blame the labour strike last fall. Good that the family young'uns are feeling better. Hope the Mamas and Papas follow soon. Carpet..Oops...But don't ya just love that wee boy?

  5. OMG. The price for real vanilla has shot up over the last 2 years almost to quadruple the price pre-pandemic.

I just cannot believe the items that are being hoarded: pasta, rice (ok, at least those aren’t perishable), but pizzas? Grapefruit?? Lord.

Uh oh. NOT GOOD little Lopez. **SIGH**

Glad your grandkids are feeling better. Hope their parents follow suit!

Our sun is out, too. The only thing that makes a cold day redeemable!

    Prayers for peace here, too.

  6. About that last 'poster'? I don't hate anything. Not work it. Hate is the opposite of Love, my spiritual studies have taught me.

    My...those were expensive bananas! ;-)

Love your holy carpet. You always give us a chuckle!

I have had sneezing and a running nose for several days...I will not consider a covid test...just focus on health and feeling good.

  7. I was floored by the price of real vanilla here too.

Holy carpet, big smile. I had a surprise 40th birthday party for the spouse and purchased a large area rug to cover up holes in the living room carpet. At the party, my then 4-year-old nephew loudly announces his Aunt Susan bought the rug to cover up holes. Those holes were caused by heavy use of a mini-trampoline in front of the TV and not the pets.

    Stay safe & healthy.

  8. That is great the grandkids are feeling better. Praying that the parents start feeling better soon. Praying for you Lynda and himself that you don't get it.

Yes the cost of everything has gone up. I have been looking for some veggies that I love and have not been able to find them and thanks to everyone's comments I now know why. I don't watch TV or listen to the news so I forget that there is still a food shortage.

I love the comment "holy carpet". I want one of those!!!

The last picture must have been my problem last night. I could not get to sleep and I have no idea why. I don't think I was worry or thinking about anything other than I needed to go to sleep. It was too cold to get up and go do anything else because I was too tired to move. So we will see how long I can go today without a nap.

    Praying for peace.

  9. Praying is just hoping and wishing, crossing your fingers. Calling Lady Luck. Those were sure expensive bananas, lucky there were any. Glad the grandkids are well, older folks take longer. Cover the holes up, lots of folks have to do that, over time. Hope you sleep well!

  10. Frankly not surprised about the cereal aisle. People see on the news that Ukraine is the breadbasket of Europe and decide they'd best buy out the cereal aisle.

    Praying for the world, too.

  11. What kind of cereal does Himself like????????

We have a lot of empty space here in the States....pasta for one thing.
I can't imagine why people would hoard stuff....leave some for everyone else. We do buy rice and beans in bulk, but not to hoard.
My hubs only likes Jasmine rice.
