Celebrating International Women's Day--

It is International Women's Day--  Women own half the sky--- whatever that means--- ---I never knew about a day set aside for women, until I took some "Women's Studies " courses , from Laurentian University, in Sudbury. They were night classes and when you did the exam at the end of each course, you got a credit towards your BA--  I think I almost received 5 credits--equivalent for my 1st year-- These classes were given at night, mostly for the teachers  in town here, to help them, get their degree .I absolutely loved these classes! ---The Professor lived in town here and was really out to help women.---I thought she was pretty special too!-- The conversations that she had in class were stimulating! --And, of course, she loved International Women's Day!

The news this morning, is that some of our Grandkids here in town, have tested positive for Covid-- And--their parents! --And a couple of their parents were out  here on the weekend-- standing in our hallway , chatting with us! --We were not close to any of them, but, still, it was sorta a shock that this omnicron virus is all around the town.--- I cancelled the Geriatric Doctor who was supposed to visit here to test Himself on Thursday-will re-schedule it!

So, once again, our schedules change--  Good thing that we are flexible isn't it?--  That is one thing that this virus has taught us--to be able to change your plans, midstream!

I thought you all might get a kick outta this trundle bed and the pictures on the wall above it! This used to be the room with a crib in it for the Grand babies--then the bunk beds moved it, as the crib moved out--now--the trundle bed--which makes into 2 single beds ---and as the Grandchildren grew,  and Tess passed on, her photos as well as a cute picture of dogs on a bike, decorated the walls--sent to us by our daughter--

-Whatever to-day is--(they all seem the same!)- I hope your day is going well--We are strong! We are Women!

  2. So the Covid in the family isn't good news. . . hope you and himself stay well and they just have a mild case. . . I assume everyone was vaccinated. They say most people who are vaccinated have a milder case. Very windy here in NH today . . .the power has flickered a couple of times. Never heard of International Women's Day until today on the morning TV Show

I DO HOPE the geriatric doctor isn't difficult to reschedule.
Gosh darn...hate hearing some of the kids and grands tested positive for Covid.
Sure hope it passes quickly and you two don't get it.
What a cute, inviting room for the grands.
Choice, Chance and Change....lots to think about. Thank you.
    Have a wonderful day.

  5. I found out about International Women's Day in Italy, in 1986... by finding flowers on my desk when I got to work! It seems everyone has had a different path to finding out about this little observance!

Hope the grands and their parents get better quickly and that the Covid doesn't spread beyond their household... i.e. that you and Himself avoid it! I know that you and he are vaxxed and boosted, right? So fairly confident the rescheduling of things will be enough to ensure everyone stays safe.

  6. Oh lord, Lynda . . . . NOT what you need . . . Covid. Hope your test and Himself’s is negative.

Yes! The rooms change as the kids get older, right! I had my exercise room downstairs on the 1st floor in what was DS's room. Now will have to get a crib in there for the granddaughter when she arrives. Haven't found one yet!

hugs and HOPE that the Covid is not visiting YOU and HImself.

  8. oh no -hope you and himself don't get it. If you weren't that close you may be ok since you've had all you shots. Hope you can re-schedule the doctor for not to far away. All should be considered safe in about a week. Stay well.

  9. Oh no, I hope you are fine and don't get Covid. It's scary when you find out you've been exposed. You have your shots and that helps so much.
