There's a reason the rear view mirror is so small----

Isn't the above so true??-----Where I am headed is much more important than what I've left behind!--

So, it was minus 25C  when Lopez , the Chihuahua,  and I made our trek into the wild blue yonder, where he did his business.--- The weather man did tell me , on CBC TV., as we departed outside, that this would be the last cold spell--that its was going to warm up next week--The clocks will change too, on Sunday, so Lopez will lose an hour--- but --will sleep later----Yeahhhhh!

Yesterday was a "down in the depths of despair" day--Praise the good Lord that I don't get too many of those! --The Dr. who deals with older Adults, did call us at noon, and chatted with both Himself and me--and he really helped me understand what Himself is going through right now---said it would've come sooner, at an earlier age, if Himself had stopped working  before he did--that being at work, and dealing with patients, kept his mind sharp and when he retired, of course his mind changed--slowly.--The Dr. agreed that a mild --very mild  tablet, has helped him not feel so depressed--  I chopped the pill in half too. Since he has been on it, life is sorta normal--He only gets half once /day--I do find that  getting him out and around, really helps him--He enjoys being sorta social---

The Covid report with the Grandchildren is rising-- The children are slowly coming down with it--almost all of them!--They must be picking it up in the schools. I did my own hair yesterday--did not want to expose my wonderful hairdresser with any germ-- so far, both Himself and I are fine-- "fine as kind"--

Hugs to all-Lord love a Duck! --WE are so fortunate to live where we do---  even if it's minus 100C--

    2. I LOVE that meme. Definitely there’s a reason that the windshield is bigger than the rearview mirror.

Glad that your weather is going to warm up next week (and I am SURE little Lopez will be happy, too.)

Yes, our time changes on Sunday, too, and same plans . . . gonna sleep in a little later. . . . IF Miss Lilly will allow it.

Wrapping you in hugs. So glad that the geriatrician could help provide some relief for you and Himself. I HOPE that the pill helps calm him a little. I know Dad was on a mild sedative and it helped. Mom, too. Not necessarily what I wanted, but, it helped.

So sorry to hear the kids are getting sick w/Covid. Happening here, too. **SIGH**

  3. Glad you got to talk to the doctor and that he was able to give you something to calm himself so he won't have his session. Congrats that you're finally getting some help. And I guess you won't be having visitors any time soon due to Covid. Man it's cold up there but at least it's supposed to start getting warmer this coming week. Have a good day.

  4. So glad there is something that's helping Himself. I've heard the same about keeping the mind working out. Probably why I keep doing puzzles. I want to keep functioning as the me I know for as long as I can. But when that starts to "go", will I know it?

I think the writing helps, too. But I still remember the last couple of e-mails from my dad when it was obvious his abilities were diminishing. That was in his last year of life.

Hope your grandchildren recover quickly. And their parents, too. Stay safe!

  5. Stay safe and warm. My spouse and I have been participating in a COVID vaccine research study and yesterday got the results of our third set of tests (done every 3 months) indicating we have not had the COVID virus and that our vaccine antibody levels are very high.

  6. So glad the doctor has brought in a pill to help a bit, and speak to both of you! Yes, it is not puzzles that help, it is the change of Experiences that help, because more brain cells are added when there are new experiences. Just like taking different routes when going somewhere helps. New things added to daily life. Like adding stuff to a computer makes it work better. But it also makes more work for you, but at least you will help yourself with new experiences of taking him places and seeing new faces. Take care, hope the weather changes after this burpy weekend.

  7. Lynda, I am so happy that you finally were able to talk to the doctor and have your mind relieved of some of that stress!

Spring will come! Still very cold here but no more snow has fallen.

I am looking forward to buds on the trees...the happiest day of the year for me...and lilacs...my favorite flower!

I copied that top poster of yours to share. Saved in in my "inspiration" folder.

  11. It sounds like your chat with the Doctor was helpful to you and for that I am thankful. It is also good that Lopez did his business outside. Prayers for your family that the covid doesn't keep them down long, Enjoy the rest of your evening.
