Yu think the brain just wears out After a certain age?

Here is Son#2, the Air Canada Pilot--beside him is his daughter, and beside her, is his wife---I am so happy that he made it back to Toronto--Here he is visiting his daughter , at her University-

Yu will never believe this, but--to-day IS A VERY GOOD DAY for Himself--  He is perfectly normal! Can yu believe that?--after yesterday, which was justa terrible day for him--which made it a very terrible day for me

--And, of course, I am late posting here--because we needed bananas, so I was at No Frills --and the bill was $307.00 --then Foodland, and their bill was $35.00----Man oh Man!--- then--the gas station and the price of gasoline here is $180.00 a litre-- (that is not a gallon)--I can see our money going , down, down-----  I did notice that the cereal aisle had almost no cereal -----Foodland had more cereal ---They asked  me at No Frills if I would like to make a donation to the Red Cross, which would go to the people of Ukraine-- Of course I did!

We are expecting some sort of storm, arriving late this afternoon, with freezing rain and snow with high winds-- I hope that we do not lose power!--So, to-morrow , I will not go to town--

Yes, to-day is Saturday-- and it is a weekend-- WooWoo! --Ya gotta love weekends----I hope everyone  is enjoying  their weekend!----

I must rescue little Lopez, who was in the kitchen with Himself while I shopped-- Poor wee fella! ---Hugs to yu all-- Prayers for the world---  and  for people who need a new brain--  YU think it just wears out after a certain age?----

One of these days, it will be Spring!

  2. What a lovely picture of son #2 and his family. Beautiful!

Well, very happy to hear that today is a better day for Himself (AND YOU) than yesterday.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! $307 + $35 for groceries and then gas. Lord. I know that it’s just DH and me, and I am frugal (DH says I can make a penny squeak – in other words, FRUGAL. LOL) but our food bill has doubled. For 2 of us! And I plan meals pretty carefully. Not going to go down any time soon, either.

The things that are scarce are just hard to figure out WHY. Pasta, rice, cream cheese, ice cream (ok, I have no business looking @ that, but I do look – just curious!) and rye bread. HUH? OH, and purple onions. Sheesh. Thank goodness I can make do.

Rain and storms today. Continuing into tomorrow and changing to snow on Monday.

Awww, hope Wee Lopez is coming along. He’s trying.

Prayers definitely for peace and yes, don’t know what has happened to many people’s brains, but . . . . logic seems to be lost.

  3. We have snow sleet freezing rain and rain forecasted for here in the next 24 hours. Yuk! Did you ever hear from the doctor yesterday? where are your test results? Crazy gas prices . . .maybe we won't be going to PEI and Newfoundland this Summer.

  4. So glad to hear today is more normal, you never know who you will wake up next to! Did the doctor call at all, or pay any attention to you? Nice picture of your son and family! Those prices are weird, here it’s beef and chicken, fruits jumping in price. Ice cream is still not bad price. People complain that Fritos regular are gone, potato chips and certain bread items. Claim is the trucks are not delivering. Spices are hard to find, too.

  5. Glad Himself is having a better day. That's the problem with the brain later in life, the swings of good/bad days! Here's hoping for a string of good days! And prayers for the world, of course.

  6. Oh I am so glad himself is doing better today. That is what is so horrible about this disease you never know who the person is going to be the next time you see them.

I also would like to know if the doctor called and did he have any suggestions.

Yes the prices of everything are going up and up and up. Since you live way up north your prices are worse because they have farther to travel and that all adds up. Praying that one of these days the prices will get back to normal.. Of course gas prices have to come down first and people need to decide they need to go to work and not sit at home doing who knows what. We need drivers for the trucks. And for all the rules they put in place so it is harder for some truckers to work. Here in the US we need to get back producing our own fuel and energy and not have to depend on other countries.

It is also really strange to see what is not on the shelves at the store. The last time I went the cereal aisle was full except it did not have the cereal I eat. Hope they have it this week. Every else is hit and miss. Makes it more challenging and frustrating to get what you want.

Love the picture of your son and his family.

I hope wee little Lopez is handling the stress and still doing his business outside.

Hope you have a peaceful and relaxing week-end. Take care of yourself.

    Pray for peace.

  7. Happy to hear himself is having a good day. Makes things better for you. Did you hear anything from Dr.?
Nice picture of pilot son and his family.
Yes, gasoline and food prices are ugly. I haven't figured out why certain shelves are bare but they stay that way. I got a few things yesterday and almost fainted when I picked up the 3# bag of tangerines....well everything I bought was higher than previous time and increases were significant. Gas has risen this week too.
Prayers for the people of Ukraine and for each person here.
Nice here today...mid 70s but heavy rain coming in and colder temps return.
    Be safe and well.

  8. So glad that himself is ok today. Did Dr. get back to you? Tomorrow is supposed to be warm here and then major winds and snow Monday. Weather is all over the place lately. Good picture of son #2 and his family. Food and gas are getting so expensive. Gas is supposed to be going up 11 cents here tonight. Ridiculous. Enjoy the weekend.

  9. When I would go to the parents' home, I could tell in a glance at Dad's eyes whether it was a bad day or good day for him. His sparkling baby blues = good day; a flat, dull blueish-grey with darting about = bad day.

  10. Glad to hear (for your sake Lynda) Fred is having a good day.

I know it is difficult for you, knowing how he used to be....and
just remember the disease is talking, not him...I pray spring is
close so he can visit with family and perhaps this will help.

  11. I'm so glad to hear that Fred was himself today. All you can really do is take each day as it comes. You've got a great support system with your family, especially your sons that come in to check on you two.

  12. I see that with my mother too. A really bad day and then a small string of good days. It is really best to enjoy the good days as they are there and then deal with the bad ones as you can. I guess the tests are showing that he is perhaps only at the beginning of the illness. I am still doing okay with our groceries keeping it to about $!00 a week and very grateful we have a tiny car and don't have to go very far but it does take $40 to fill it instead of $30 as before.

  13. Hmmm...we all start to wonder if our brains are wearing out. I have senior moments much more often than I used to.

So happy Himself did better today. I hope it keeps up for you. Wonder if the doctor ever called and if you have received results from all those labs and tests?
